St James Anglican Church in Graaff-Reinet was designed in 1848 and completed in 1850. Later additions were the Lady chapel in1893 and later the rectory. The church was designed by Architect Sophia Gray the wife of Bishop Gray.

The building can seat 1500 people and the spire is 45.72m high.
The Dordecht NGK Foundation Stone was laid in 1882 and the Church inaugurated in 1883.
