14 Apr Dordrecht NGK – Eastern cape
The Dordecht NGK Foundation Stone was laid in 1882 and the Church inaugurated in 1883.
The Church in Grey Street, Dordrecht was built in Neo-Gothic style and the spire is 46.9m high, dominating the town.
The Kerk must have had a large congregation, given its size and has side aisles and a grand organ. This album also has images of the many Predikants who served the congregation.
Outside of the church are monuments to former Predikants alongside a monument to men who died in the Anglo Boer War (1899-1902).
