31 Jan Mokala Game Reserve – Northern Cape
Mokala Game Reserve about 70 km S.W. of Kimberly is one of San Parks newest reserves and a jewel at that.
This 27000 hectare reserve was established in 2007 in order to replace the Vaalbos Nature Reserve that was subject to land claims. Over the years it has been consolidated and now boasts lodges at Lilydale and Mosu and a Bush Camp. The Lodges have self catering and restaurantse where bookings are required.
The beauty of this reserve is its diversity of open plains and well wooded kopjies and the diversity of game including the rare Roan Antelope, Sable Antelope, and Black Wildebeest.
