28 Feb ZAMBIA – Flight of Angels – Victoria Falls
This is must for the bucket list, flying fixed wing or by helicopter over the Victoria Falls from the Zambian side.
Victoria Falls or locally , Mosi-oa-Tunya, “The smoke that thunders”, is the largest waterfall in the world based on height (360ft) and width (more than a mile), on the Zambesi River.
The falls were discovered by David Livingstone in 1855, and he is quoted as saying, “It seems so lovely, it must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight”.
It is now possible to take the route of angels with a fixed wing, or helicopter flight over the falls and surrounding area, upstream and downstream.
This album speaks for itself with images of the Falls, upstream stretches, old gorges, and some of the local hotels on the Zambezi River banks.
