01 Jul Zimanga Private Game Reserve
Zimanga Private Game Reserve is situated just north of Mkuze and about 320 kilometers north of Durban on the N2. The reserve is also accessible by air. The Coordinates for the main gate are : 27deg.34min.11sec S and 32deg.00min.10.89sec E.
The old Doornhoek farmhouse has been converted into a boutique lodge, images of which are included in this album. A new second lodge at the time of my visit was in the process of being constructed and due to open in the first half of 2018.
The reserves, as well as having, restricted number, game drives, has a number of hides that get avid photographers close up to the wide variety of birds, scavengers, and big game. These hides are especially set up for photographers and include Umgodi overnight hide, Scavengers Hill Vulture Hide, Mkombe Hide,Bhejane Hide, and Lagoon Hide.
